Imbalance of vaginal flora

Factors:

Lactobacilli
- identified by Albert Döderlein, 1894;
- over 125 species.
- Friendly bacteria:
- yogurt, cheese, pickles, beer, wine;

Major component of vaginal flora:
over 90%
- major action: protection, by generating H2O2, thus controlling the presence, colonization and growth of non-endogen micro organisms within vagina;
- secondary action: regulating pH, by generating lactic acid.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus
- isolated in 1985 from the intestinal tract of a healthy human being by two american physicists;
- it tolerates the acid conditions of the stomach, and the bile acids of the small intestine, colonizing the digestive tract, and balancing intestinal microflora;
Lactobacillus rhamnosus and vaginal flora
- protects the urogenital tract by excreting biosurfactants to inhibit the adhesion of vaginal and urinary pathogens;
- releases acids, bacteriocins and H2O2 which inhibit the pathogen growth.

Digestive
- 1 - 3 capsules daily for abnormal frequency problems of stools, bloating, abdominal cramps;
